This marine radar tank level indicator can be ordered in three configurations: flange mount, threaded, or stub end for mounting on the sounding tube. A pneumatic quick release allows the radar head to be easily and quickly swiveled off the tube top if the ship still prefers to perform physical soundings. The VEGAPULS 66 radar sensor is used in thousands of applications on nearly every ship in the US Navy. Existing hand sounding tubes are used for measuring the levels. The radar sensor couples its signal directly into the sounding pipe and makes the classic radar antenna unnecessary. The VEGAPULS 66 Swivel and Sound Radar can be swiveled from the sounding pipe by means of a special coupling if a manual sounding is necessary.
